4. RTX – United States
RTX Corporation is a leading aerospace and defense company with a vast portfolio that encompasses various advanced technologies, including significant contributions to the drone ecosystem.
While RTX itself does not produce complete drone platforms in the same vein as a company like General Atomics, its various business units — particularly Raytheon and Collins Aerospace — are critical suppliers of sophisticated components, sensors, effectors, and integrated systems that enable the advanced capabilities of modern unmanned aerial vehicles and counter-UAS solutions.
Within the drone domain, RTX’s contributions are primarily focused on the “brains” and “eyes” of drones, as well as the systems to defend against them. Raytheon, an RTX business, is a major player in C-UAS, offering kinetic solutions like the Coyote unmanned aircraft system, which acts as an interceptor drone, and non-kinetic options such as Phaser High-Power Microwave systems and High-Energy Lasers to neutralize single drones or swarms.

The company also provides crucial Ku-band Radio Frequency Sensors for drone detection, identification, and tracking.
Collins Aerospace provides essential avionics, flight control systems (including Athena and Piccolo autopilots), navigation and guidance systems, mission computers, and data links that are integrated into various manned and unmanned aircraft, ensuring their autonomous operation, communication, and mission execution.
RTX is actively involved in the “Launched Effects” concept, providing mission systems that enable smaller, expendable drones to extend the reach and lethality of manned platforms for reconnaissance, electronic warfare, and precision strike.
