Top 100 Drone Defense Companies in 2025

In an era where unmanned systems define the next frontier of warfare and intelligence, The Defense Post is unveiling its definitive list of the Top 100 Companies Advancing Drone Technology across air, ground, and sea.

28. Quantum-Systems GmbH – Germany

Quantum-Systems GmbH, a German technology company founded in 2015 and headquartered near Munich, has rapidly become a key player in the development and production of advanced unmanned aerial systems.

Specializing in electric vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing drones, Quantum-Systems combines the maneuverability of multi-rotors with the endurance and efficiency of airplanes.

This patented “tilt rotor transition aircraft” technology allows their drones to take off and land vertically without the need for runways or additional launch equipment, making them highly versatile for various professional applications, including critical defense and security missions.

For defense, Quantum-Systems offers a range of high-performance and battle-proven drones.

Its flagship product is the Vector, a 2-in-1 system that can be configured as a fixed-wing UAS for long-range intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance or converted into a multirotor (Scorpion) for shorter-range, focused operations.

The Vector AI, an enhanced variant, incorporates dual NVIDIA Jetson Orin SOMs for AI-driven object detection, classification, and tracking, enabling operations even in GPS-denied or contested environments with robust electronic warfare resilience.

Quantum-Systems has secured significant defense contracts globally, including with the German, Australian, Dutch, and New Zealand militaries, and its drones have seen extensive operational use in Ukraine.

They also provide comprehensive software solutions like QBase Tactical for mission planning and control, and are actively developing multi-domain control platforms like MOSAIC UXS to command mixed fleets of unmanned systems from various vendors.

Quantum-Systems recently acquired AirRobot to strengthen its capabilities, particularly for the German Bundeswehr, further cementing its position in the defense drone market.
