Schiebel GmbH, an Austrian company founded in 1951, is a globally recognized developer and manufacturer of advanced unmanned aerial systems, particularly known for its vertical take-off and landing rotary-wing drones.

Its extensive experience is reflected in thousands of flight hours and numerous deployments across all climatic conditions and from various land and maritime platforms.
For defense applications, Schiebel’s flagship product is the Camcopter S-100, a high-performance VTOL UAS widely adopted by navies and armies worldwide.
The S-100 is engineered for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, capable of operating day and night in harsh weather conditions with a range out to 200 kilometers (124 miles).
It can carry a variety of payloads, including electro-optical/infrared gimbals, Synthetic Aperture Radar, Laser Imaging Detection and Ranging (LIDAR), and signals intelligence sensors.
Its VTOL capability eliminates the need for prepared runways or launch/recovery equipment, making it ideal for deployment from ships and austere land sites.
Schiebel has also introduced the larger Camcopter S-300, which offers significantly increased endurance (over 24 hours) and payload capacity (up to 250 kilograms/551 pounds), further expanding its utility for long-range anti-submarine warfare and seabed warfare missions, as seen in its selection for the European Defence Fund’s SEACURE project.
