Indra, EDGE to Expand Joint Venture Into Advanced Electronic Warfare
Indra Group and EDGE Group have signed an agreement to explore expanding their joint venture, Pulse Nova, so it can make not just advanced radar systems but also electronic warfare (EW) technology.
The memorandum of understanding signed during the Dubai Airshow positions the Abu Dhabi–based company to potentially integrate EW technologies using expertise from both Indra and SIGN4L, EDGE’s radar and EW subsidiary.
It will provide a framework for the companies to evaluate adding next-generation EW systems to Pulse Nova’s portfolio, complementing its ongoing work in manufacturing and developing radar systems in the UAE.
“The extension would represent the determination of both companies to create a global market leader both in the field of advanced radar and electronic warfare technologies across multiple domains,” said Indra Executive Chairman Ángel Escribano.
Indra CEO José Vicente de los Mozos added that the interest in broadening the joint venture stems from its “excellent track record” and the opportunity to merge complementary technological and commercial capabilities, particularly in the Middle East.
The partnership continues to focus on developing sophisticated systems and expanding into global markets — particularly non-NATO regions outside the EU — where EDGE brings strong commercial networks and technology infrastructure, while Indra contributes engineering expertise, technology transfer, and manufacturing capabilities.
In March 2024, both companies also agreed to expand into markets outside Europe and NATO to offer military radars.
