Raytheon UK to Supply GPS Anti-Jamming Systems for BAE’s CV90 Vehicles

BAE Systems has contracted Raytheon UK to supply a GPS anti-jamming solution for the CV90 infantry fighting vehicle, strengthening the platform’s navigation resilience against electronic interference.

The Landshield Plus integrates an antenna and anti-jam processor into a single unit, delivering real-time awareness of interfering signals and their source.

Introduced in May 2019, the compact system features advanced spoofing detection to identify counterfeit GPS signals designed to mislead receivers into generating false position data.

When deployed across multiple vehicles, Landshield Plus can network its sensors to triangulate the source of jamming or spoofing, offering not only protection but also actionable intelligence that may deliver a strategic advantage.

The system operates on both L1 and L2 GPS frequency bands — the primary signals used by GPS satellites — and can simultaneously counter interference from up to six jammers across these bands.

Deliveries for integration on CV90 platforms are scheduled between 2025 and 2029.

“There is a growing demand for resilient GPS across today’s complex battlefield,” managing director and chief executive of Raytheon UK James Gray said.

“The Landshield Plus anti-jam solution delivers exceptional performance in one integrated system, making it an ideal choice for modern combat vehicles such as the CV90.”
