Israeli Kamikaze Drone Maker UVision Establishes German Subsidiary

Israeli defense technology company UVision has expanded its operations in Europe by establishing a subsidiary based in Munich, Germany.

Named Uvision Europe Gmbh, the entity builds on UVision’s existing footprint in the region, with several European countries having ordered and operated the company’s HERO loitering munitions

The subsidiary will support localized development projects that meet specific European operational requirements, and provide customer support, local sourcing and manufacturing, engineering, training, and integrated logistics support services.

It will ensure that UVision’s solutions are fully aligned with European regulations, standards, and certification requirements, ensuring seamless integration and supply chain resilience.

Roman Didenco, who heads drone manufacturing firm RD Tech Group and IT consulting company NETTACT, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Uvision Europe GmbH.

The creation of UVision Europe is “bringing the company closer to its customers and creating the foundations for a progressively independent European operation,” Didenco noted

UVision in Europe

UVision teamed up with Rheinmetall in October 2021 to market HERO kamikaze drones across Europe. Hungary publicly ordered them in July 2023, and other unnamed NATO allies have signed major contracts.

HERO systems come in several variants, including the man-portable HERO 30, HERO 120, and HERO 400, for use against armored vehicles, fortifications, and fixed installations.

These are produced at Rheinmetall’s facility in Sardinia, Italy, which is operated by its Italian unit, RWM Italia.
