The US Marine Corps has awarded Virginia-based Obsidian Solutions Group a contract to support the force’s vehicle training efforts.
The agreement encompasses operations and sustainment services for several platforms, including computer-based driving simulators, light vehicle trainers, and mechanized weapon training systems.
It also covers lifecycle logistics for the Dry Rollover Egress Trainer, which simulates exit plans from a vehicle after an accident.
Related works will support individual and collective training for vehicle operators, gunners, and associated crews across active duty and reserve units, as the military fields integrated platforms to reinforce readiness.
Obsidian Solutions Group highlighted that the contract broadens its scope in aiding US Marine Corps preparations and scales its expertise in handling complex simulator environments.
“This contract underscores our commitment to innovation and excellence and is meaningful to everyone at [Obsidian Solutions Group], especially our many veterans and those of us who have worn the Marine Corps uniform,” said Jim Wiley, co-founder and president of Obsidian Solutions Group.
“We feel honored to continue growing our body of work supporting the Marine Corps and warfighter readiness.”
Currently, the US Marine Corps employs various types of ground fleets for expeditionary deployments, firepower, engineering, and logistics.
Among the force’s key assets are the Amphibious Combat Vehicle, designed for littoral and land-based forward operations, as well as the Remotely Operated Ground Unit for Expeditionary Fires or ROGUE Fires, a mobile artillery system derived from the Humvee successor Joint Light Tactical Vehicle.
