RTX’s Collins Aerospace has signed three‑year agreements to strengthen support for C‑130 Hercules wheels and brakes.
The deals, involving Integrated Procurement Technologies, S3 AeroDefense, and Derco, cover logistics, hardware availability, and lifecycle hardware support.
These aim to improve fleet readiness and supply responsiveness over the next three years.
Collins’ wheels and brakes, featuring DURACARB technology, are already installed on more than 30,000 commercial and military aircraft. US military and allied C‑130 fleets rely heavily on ready availability of such components to support a range of missions, from combat resupply to humanitarian relief.
“These distribution agreements will help ensure fleet readiness for our customers, enabling them to operate where they’re needed most,” Matt Maurer, vice president and general manager of Landing Systems at Collins Aerospace, said.
Supporting the C‑130 Hercules
Efforts to sustain and modernize C‑130 fleets have continued across US and partner forces in recent years.
In January, Lockheed Martin’s Derco secured a new performance‑based logistics contract with the Defense Logistics Agency aimed at boosting spare parts availability and managing inventory and engineering support for the Hercules fleet.
The US government has also supported allied use of C‑130s through transfer programs. For example, the Philippine Air Force received a C‑130H transport via the US Excess Defense Articles program in February 2024, reinforcing regional logistics and humanitarian capabilities.
