British Army Receives Two H145 Jupiter HC Mk2 Helicopters in Brunei

The British Army in Brunei has received two H145-based Jupiter HC Mk2 helicopters, part of a six-aircraft order, after Airbus had delivered three of the helicopters to the UK in 2025.

The 667 Squadron Army Air Corps will use the rotorcraft for jungle training and a wide range of missions, including medical evacuation, troop transport, external cargo operations, firefighting, and general aviation support, as well as intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.

The acquisition is part of a UK Ministry of Defence program finalized in April 2024 to support British troops in Brunei and Cyprus.

In December 2025, London awarded Airbus Helicopters a 33.6-million-pound ($45.3 million) two-year contract for initial support and servicing of the Jupiter HC2 fleet.

All six choppers are expected in-theater by the end of 2026.

With deliveries spanning only two years, the defense ministry noted it as one of its fastest procurement programs.

Light Utility Rotorcraft

The approximately 14-meter-long (46-feet) H145 is a light utility rotorcraft that can seat up to 10 personnel, in addition to one to two pilots. It has a payload capacity of around 1,900 kilograms (4,189 pounds).

Powered by two turboshaft engines, it can fly at about 130 knots (241 kilometers/150 miles per hour), with a range of 650 kilometers (404 miles) and an operating altitude of around 6,096 meters (20,000 feet).
