Fincantieri to Equip Italian Navy Ships With Advanced Cyber Protection
Fincantieri Group, through its subsidiary e-phors, has signed a contract with the Italian Navy to enhance the cyber resilience of naval units.
The program will equip vessels with an integrated solution to monitor and counter cyber threats on the onboard Ship Management System network, strengthening platform protection and mission security.
E-phors’ technologies are designed specifically for the digital ecosystem of defense vessels, providing crews with tools to support tactical decision-making during cyber incidents.
The integration adds a layer of defense and is part of the Italian Navy’s ongoing cyber strengthening initiative, which has already been applied to Bergamini-class frigates.
Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and Managing Director of Fincantieri, stated that the program provides “advanced, cutting-edge solutions on the international scene, ensuring the highest standards of protection and reliability for Navy units in response to the challenges of today and tomorrow.”
