BAE Systems has delivered the first three BvS10 armored all-terrain vehicles to Sweden, Germany, and the UK under their joint procurement program.
A total of 423 BvS10s were ordered under a framework agreement, comprising 223 for Sweden, 60 for the UK, and 140 for Germany, with deliveries scheduled through 2028.
Germany later placed an additional order for 227 vehicles under the same framework agreement.
“The extreme mobility capabilities offered by the BvS10, and the multiple uses that it enables, provides the user nations with a reliable, high-tech, and modern capability that is instantly ready for missions in the harshest environments,” managing director of BAE Systems Hägglunds Tommy Gustafsson-Rask said.
“And because of the streamlined procurement model, nations will easily be able to join seamlessly and receive the advanced capabilities the BvS10 provides.”
All-Terrain Vehicle
The procurement covers the latest variant of the BvS10, designed for optimal mobility across diverse terrains, including snow, ice, sand, mud, swamps, rocky ground, and steep mountain environments.
Moreover, its amphibious capability enables it to operate in flooded terrain and coastal waters, allowing for the transport of troops and supplies while maintaining mobility at all operational levels.
Featuring a modular design, the tracked articulated mobility system can be adapted for multiple missions and delivered in variants such as personnel carrier, command and control, ambulance, vehicle repair and recovery, logistics support, situational awareness, and weapons carrier with mortar capability.
In 2024, Sweden ordered Saab’s Mobile Short-Range Air Defence system to be integrated onto the BvS10 vehicle.
The vehicle is currently in service with Austria, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the UK.
