250818-N-MK109-1014 GREAT LAKES, Ill. (Aug. 18, 2025) Recruits participate in their physical fitness assessment (PFA) at Freedom Hall onboard Recruit Training Command (RTC). PFAs are conducted during boot camp to ensure future Sailors are prepared for the physical demands of the fleet. Training at RTC is approximately nine weeks, and all enlistees in the U.S. Navy begin their careers at the command. More than 40,000 recruits train annually at the Navy's only boot camp.
