Ajax is an advanced, fully digitised, land vehicle system delivering transformational change in capability to the British Army. There are six variants in the Ajax family, all based upon a common base platform. The Ajax family has been designed to be at the heart of the British Army’s future armoured fleet, offering enhanced lethality, survivability, reliability, mobility and all-weather intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) capabilities through its advanced sensor suite. Ajax is currently in the Demonstration and Manufacture phases of its lifecycle. The Army has been conducting training on early Ajax vehicles in both operational Units and Training establishments, with Reliability Growth Trials progressing well. Operationally deployable platforms will be delivered to the Field Army throughout 2024, with the Household Cavalry Regiment being the first Army unit to convert to Ajax.

UK Restarts Ajax Armored Fighting Vehicle Tests Following Soldier Health Scare

The UK Ministry of Defence will resume tests and acceptance of Ajax armored fighting vehicles after a safety review cleared the program to move forward.

As the Lead Command Unit, 45 Cdo must be prepared to conduct Operations anywhere in the world. The Commandos were in the High North learning to be winter warriors conducting Arctic survival training in bitterly cold temperatures. The conditions are harsh around 200 miles inside the Arctic Circle, where the sun barely rises and temperatures plummet to below -30C. The Land Rover Wolf 4×4 is used as a light utility vehicle and has been adopted in a number of guises and body styles including fire engines, excavators, communication vehicle, ambulance, a lightweight model for air transport, snowplough, and six-wheel drive, amphibious and track-propelled versions.
