The US Navy has renewed and expanded production of secure communications hardware from Mobix Labs for its surface fleet.
The deal reinforces efforts to maintain reliable network connectivity aboard ships in challenging operational environments.
Under a continuation of previously disclosed orders, Mobix Labs will produce communications components designed to protect critical naval systems from interference and disruption.
These systems support secure network infrastructure that enables command, control, and data exchange during complex maritime operations.
US Navy Boosts Defense Communications
Several notable US Navy communications and networking contracts over the past few years highlight the service’s emphasis on resilient connectivity and tactical data systems.
In February 2026, L3Harris Technologies secured its largest submarine communications deal to date — a production agreement for advanced connectivity suites across Virginia‑ and Columbia‑class submarines.
Data Link Solutions was awarded a $248-million contract in January 2026 to supply hundreds of Multifunctional Information Distribution System-Joint Tactical Radio System terminals for naval platforms.
Earlier, in January 2025, BAE Systems secured an $85-million Network Tactical Common Data Link contract to produce systems that enable real‑time exchange of voice, data, imagery, and full‑motion video across aircraft carriers and Constellation‑class frigates, strengthening integrated tactical networking.
By October 2025, Sev1Tech secured a $49-million contract to support the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic with cybersecurity and network engineering services, reflecting continued investment in secure digital warfare communications.
Going back to January 2023, SAIC received a $349-million contract to support afloat and ashore tactical networks.
