US Awards Raytheon $183.7M to Supply Patriot Systems to UAE

The US has awarded Raytheon a $183.7-million contract to supply new Patriot system hardware and support under a foreign military sales (FMS) case for the UAE.

Under the firm-fixed-price contract, Raytheon will provide Patriot kit hardware and services that include procurement, installation, inspection, logistics support, and program management through March 3, 2031.

Work is scheduled to take place in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, and is funded with fiscal 2026 FMS resources obligated at award.

The Patriot is a cornerstone of high‑end air and missile defense, capable of tracking and intercepting aircraft, cruise missiles, and tactical ballistic missiles.

US Patriot Sales

Across the past year, the US government has approved several significant Patriot‑related FMS to bolster allied air defense networks.

In April 2025, the US State Department approved a potential $280-million Patriot air defense system sale to Romania aimed at strengthening the NATO ally’s ability to counter ballistic and cruise missile threats by acquiring radar sets, launch stations, and associated command equipment.

By November 2025, the US approved a $105-million Patriot sustainment sale for Ukraine, covering launcher upgrades, parts, and logistics support to help keep Kyiv’s deployed systems operational.

Kuwait has also received approvals for two large Patriot deals. In April 2025, the State Department cleared a possible sale of upgrades and related services valued at roughly $400 million, including delivery, installation, and sustainment support.

Then in January 2026, Washington authorized up to $800 million in Patriot program sustainment and follow‑on technical support for Kuwait, encompassing spares, maintenance, surveillance firing, and training equipment under FMS provisions.
