Rheinmetall’s new FV-014 loitering munition recently showcased its precision targeting and strike capabilities in a live demo, highlighting a system with the potential to engage targets up to 100 kilometers (62 miles) away.
The test, held at the National Test Centre for Unmanned Aerial Systems of the German Aerospace Centre, had the kamikaze drone run through multiple attack profiles and operational maneuvers.
It launched from a ground-based platform, assessed the target mid-flight, and successfully struck what appeared to be an armored vehicle.
