L3Harris Unveils Multi-Agency Tactical Network

L3Harris Technologies has demonstrated a first-of-its-kind network that lets multiple US government agencies communicate seamlessly across domains, uniting tactical radios, counter-drone systems, advanced imaging tools, and mobile command centers.

The end-to-end exercise highlighted rapid integration of software-defined capabilities, allowing instant situational awareness and coordinated responses to threats without relying on traditional, siloed systems.

The demonstration featured L3Harris’ T-HAWC handheld system, the AN/PRC-158C software-defined radio, and 5G gateway solutions, showing how public safety and tactical radios can interoperate across manned and unmanned platforms.

These resilient, multi-path networks maintain connectivity even in contested or degraded environments, supporting not only the Department of Defense but also other federal agencies and large-scale emergency responses.

Sam Mehta, president of Communication Systems at L3Harris, said the demonstration proves that speed and interoperability are essential for national security, and that the company’s approach can deliver advanced solutions to warfighters in weeks rather than years.

L3Harris-US Partnership

L3Harris has a long-standing track record of providing advanced communications and defense solutions to US military and federal agencies.

Over the past two years, the company received contracts including a $479-million deal in 2024 to supply the US Special Operations Command with next-generation tactical radios.

In January 2025, L3Harris secured a $300-million contract to deliver cryptographic-compliant multi-channel radios to the US Army.

By October, the company again received a $24-million contract to supply its software-defined data device for the US Army’s Next Generation Command and Control transport layer.
