Denmark Orders 44 More CV90 IFVs From BAE Systems

Denmark has placed an order for 44 additional CV9035 MkIIIC infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) from BAE Systems, building on a 2024 order of 115 CV90s.

This brings the total fleet to 159 CV9035 MkIIIC IFVs for the Royal Danish Army by the end of 2030, and is intended to replace the planned mid-life extension program for the current fleet of 44 CV9035DK platforms.

The latest contract, valued at approximately $450 million, also covers spares, support, logistics, and training.

The CV9035 MkIIIC is built to the same standard as the latest CV90 mid-life upgrade program for the Netherlands, featuring the latest CV90 turret.

“The infantry fighting vehicle is an essential part of the combat power in the heavy brigade. It is therefore crucial that we acquire a consolidated fleet of vehicles as quickly as possible,” said Danish Army Commander Major General Peter Boysen.

CV90 IFVs

BAE Systems Hägglunds built the CV90 to integrate a wide range of weapon systems, including autocannons, machine guns, grenade launchers, and guided missiles.

The CV90 entered Danish military service in 2007.

It is also operated by other NATO countries, including Estonia, Finland, and Sweden, which signed a statement of intent with three other countries in June 2025 to jointly procure CV90 IFVs

Meanwhile, Copenhagen and Stockholm have donated CV90s to support Ukrainian forces in their ongoing war with Russia.
