Embraer Shows Off New KC-390 Exterior Finish to Boost Global Appeal

Brazilian aerospace firm Embraer has unveiled a new paint scheme for its KC-390 Millennium military transport aircraft.

The airframe and its design will serve as a standard for demonstrations at trade shows, marketing campaigns, and international events.

The update also allows for potential custom liveries for future customer aircraft.

According to the company, the refreshed demonstrator is expected to appear at international aerospace and defense events before the end of 2025 as part of Embraer’s expanded production and marketing efforts.

In its announcement, Embraer highlighted that the new livery reflects Embraer’s efforts to promote the KC-390 internationally and respond to growing demand.

“This new visual identity represents an important milestone in the history of the KC-390 Millennium, the multi-mission aircraft of the 21st century,” Embraer Defense & Security CEO and President Bosco da Costa Jr. said.

“Its combination of speed, agility, robustness, reliability, technology and efficiency strengthens the defense capabilities of its operators and promotes strategic interoperability among allied nations.”

The announcement follows Embraer’s signing of a contract amendment with Lisbon for an additional KC-390 delivery to the Portuguese Air Force.

The company also recently promoted the tactical airlifter to the Polish government and other European partners at an exhibit in Kielce.

KC-390 Millennium’s Specifications

The 35-meter (115-foot) KC-390 Millennium is capable of carrying up to 26,000 kilograms (57,320 pounds) of cargo or 80 personnel, and has a fuel capacity of 35,000 kilograms (77,162 pounds).

With two IAE V2500-E5 turbofan engines, the plane can reach speeds over 500 knots (926 kilometers/575 miles per hour), fly up to 4,570 nautical miles (8,464 kilometers/5,259 miles), and operate at altitudes up to 11,000 meters (36,089 feet).

Users can deploy the KC-390 for personnel and equipment logistics, medical evacuations, firefighting, search and rescue, and humanitarian relief.
