Embraer to Showcase KC-390 Millennium Tactical Airlifter in Poland

Brazilian aerospace manufacturer Embraer is promoting its KC-390 Millennium multi-mission aircraft to Poland and regional stakeholders at the 2025 International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce.

The company’s participation is part of its broader effort to build a European network covering training, maintenance, repair, overhaul, as well as research and development, to keep active KC-390s in the region mission-ready and compatible with NATO standards.

It also aligns with Warsaw’s goal to modernize air mobility, allowing its forces to move troops and equipment efficiently while maintaining interoperability with allies.

The KC-390 has been adopted by 11 air forces worldwide, including seven NATO members and eight European countries. It entered service with the Brazilian Air Force in 2019, followed by Portugal in 2023 and Hungary in 2024.

According to the firm, deployment records show the aircraft maintains a mission capability rate of 93 percent and a mission completion rate above 99 percent, highlighting its reliability in support of militaries.

First MSPO Appearance

Embraer Defense & Security President and CEO Bosco da Costa Jr. said this year’s MSPO marks the company’s first participation at the event.

He noted that Embraer’s attendance reflects its commitment to fostering collaboration with the Polish defense industry and positions the KC-390 Millennium as a potential key contributor to regional capabilities and NATO interoperability.

“This prestigious event represents a valuable opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation that unite us with our Polish partners,” da Costa said.

“We regard Poland as a nation with a rich and distinguished aerospace heritage, and as a vital member of NATO.”

The aircraft is powered by two IAE V2500-E5 turbofans and can be fitted with an electronic warfare suite, self-protection, and countermeasures against airborne missiles, depending on user requirements.

It features a speed of more than 500 knots (926 kilometers/575 miles per hour), an operational altitude of 11,000 meters (36,089 feet), and a range of 4,570 nautical miles (8,464 kilometers/5,259 miles).
