Amentum to Support Saudi Arabia’s In-Country MROU for Military Vehicles

Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), a state-owned defense firm, has partnered with Amentum to optimize its maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade (MROU) capabilities for land combat systems.

The collaboration will position SAMI’s land systems division as the national leader in MROU, establishing business processes and best practices to meet growing domestic demand.

It is expected to create jobs, strengthen the industrial base, and build national expertise through technology transfer.

The partnership supports Riyadh’s broader defense industry ambitions and aligns with Vision 2030, which aims to localize more than 50 percent of military spending by the end of the decade.

Among the systems currently supported by SAMI are the Al-Faris 8-400, Al-Kaser, and Al-Mansour armored personnel carriers; the Al-Masmak and Tuwaiq mine-resistant ambush protected vehicles; and the Ashibl light armored vehicles.
