Nexalus Partners With TuffTek to Bring Liquid Cooling to Rugged Military Computing
Irish liquid cooling developer Nexalus has partnered with Canadian rugged computing manufacturer TuffTek to offer integrated solutions for military customers.
The collaboration will focus on next-generation systems supporting computing and artificial intelligence capabilities that strain conventional cooling units across demanding environments.
For the teaming, Nexalus will lead the design and augmentation of its proprietary assemblies with TuffTek’s deployable platforms to sustain operability for defense as well as security applications.
“This collaboration with TuffTek is about applying Nexalus’ engineering solutions in some of the most demanding use cases globally,” said Kenneth O’Mahony, CEO of Nexalus.
“By integrating advanced liquid cooling into TuffTek’s ruggedized, deployable platforms, we are enabling a new standard for performance and efficiency at the edge for a rapidly growing market.”
Addressing ‘Limiting’ Problems
Nexalus’ portfolio includes cold plate designs for processors and graphics systems operating under extreme workloads, as well as server enclosures built to maintain stable temperatures in harsh environments.
The company’s cooling devices can capture more than 95 percent of waste heat generated by computing operations and repurpose it as usable hot water or sustainable heat sources.
Some systems are also designed to increase computing capacity while reducing energy consumption and space requirements by 33 percent.
Meanwhile, TuffTek’s ruggedized products support specialized equipment with reinforced rack mounting, integrated power distribution, and secure communications capabilities.
The systems are also built to withstand extreme temperatures while sealed against air and water intrusion.
