Leidos Wins $456M Deal to Support US Troops, Families

Leidos has won a $456-million contract to continue running Military OneSource, the US Department of Defense’s primary support program for service members and their families.

The four-year award, issued through the General Services Administration, keeps Leidos in charge of a system that delivers around-the-clock counseling, relocation assistance, spouse employment resources, tax services, and deployment support.

More than 4.7 million service members and family members rely on the program for confidential access to help through phone and live chat services.

Military OneSource operates as a centralized support platform, designed to reduce administrative friction for military households navigating frequent moves, deployments, and career transitions.

Services extend beyond counseling to include caregiver guidance and financial planning tools.

“Strengthening the health and readiness of those in uniform is a responsibility we feel deeply across our company,” Leidos Health President Liz Porter said.

US Backs Military Family Support

The contract comes as the US expands a range of support programs for troops and families over the past two years, focusing on mental health access, housing stability, and financial resilience.

In 2025, the Pentagon expanded the Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) program and launched MCCYN-PLUS to address gaps in access where accredited child care is not available.

A year before, the agency upgraded financial and relocation support for service members. It introduced a benefit allowing personnel to set aside up to $3,200 in pre-tax income for medical expenses and increased moving support, extending temporary lodging reimbursements.
