Elbit Systems Secures $200M in Israel Air-Launched Munitions Deals
Israel has awarded Elbit Systems roughly $200 million in contracts for advanced airborne munitions.
Elbit Systems said the contracts were issued by the Israel Ministry of Defense in line with Operation Roaring Lion, or the country’s military campaign against Iran.
The orders cover a range of air-launched munitions designed to support the Israeli Air Force’s strike and air superiority missions.
While specific munition types were not disclosed, the company said the systems fall under its portfolio showcasing “technological leadership.”
CEO Bezhalel Machlis said that Elbit Systems’ “high–precision, reliable solutions… are among the factors enabling the Israeli Air Force’s air superiority.”
Israel Expands Airborne Munition Procurement
Recent procurement activity shows Israel continuing to invest in a range of munitions from domestic and international suppliers.
In April, the Israeli Ministry of Defense signed an approximately $48-million contract with Elbit Systems for tens of thousands of locally produced 155mm artillery shells.
This followed a $183-million contract awarded to Elbit in January for air munitions to replenish stockpiles over several years, as well as two additional contracts worth $260 million from August 2025.
Israel also purchased Tamir surface-to-air missiles from Raytheon and Rafael joint venture R2S under a $1.25-billion contract issued in November 2025.
The country’s recent procurements signal a continued expansion of defense spending. In March, Israel approved an $827-million emergency budget allocation for military purchases.
