ARX Robotics to Supply GEREON Uncrewed Ground Vehicles to British Army

Germany-based ARX Robotics has secured an order to supply GEREON uncrewed ground vehicles (UGVs) to the British Army.

The systems will operate alongside army units to test and integrate robotic and autonomous capabilities into land operations, including their use within existing force structures.

Officials linked the adoption to broader modernization efforts, in line with London’s defense industrial strategy.

“ARX Robotics’ decision to begin manufacturing in the UK is exactly the kind of investment we want to see,” stated Luke Pollard, UK Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry, as quoted by the company.

“It demonstrates that our defense industrial strategy is working – attracting innovative technology companies to build here, backing skilled jobs and strengthening our Armed Forces.”

GEREON

GEREON is a medium-sized UGV designed for both military and non-military applications.

The system can operate in manual or autonomous modes and is intended to support a range of tasks, including logistics, casualty evacuation, and surveillance.

The platform has a payload capacity of up to 500 kilograms (about 1,100 pounds), allowing it to transport equipment or supplies in field conditions.

It has an operational range of up to 40 kilometers (around 25 miles) and a control range of up to 4 kilometers (2.5 miles).

The system is equipped with thermal and night vision cameras, enabling operation in low-visibility environments.

It is designed for all-terrain mobility and can be deployed relatively quickly, with a charging time of around 2.5 hours.

Its endurance is up to 72 hours, depending on the mission profile and usage.

The platform uses a modular architecture, allowing different payloads or attachments to be integrated for each task.

This configuration supports adaptation across different operational roles without requiring structural changes to the base vehicle.
