Cadre Holdings subsidiary Med-Eng has secured $86.4 million in contracts to supply blast-attenuation seats for new Mowag Eagle military vehicles built by General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS).
The contracts, valued at $74.6 million and $11.8 million, cover seats that will be installed in Eagle V 4×4 command-and-control vehicles and Eagle V 6×6 protected ambulance variants.
According to Cadre, production for the larger Eagle V 4×4 program will begin in 2026 and run through 2031, while the Eagle V 6×6 contract will run from 2026 to 2029.
Med-Eng’s seats are designed to protect crews from blast threats caused by mines and improvised explosive devices. These explosions can generate intense vertical acceleration followed by a downward slam effect when the vehicle hits the ground again.
The company said its designs aim to reduce the impact forces experienced by drivers and passengers during such events. Med-Eng has previously developed blast-mitigation seating for both wheeled and tracked military vehicles used in new production and retrofit programs.
Eagle Fleet Expansion
The Mowag Eagle armored vehicle family has been adopted or ordered by several European militaries in recent years, underlining its role as a widely fielded protected mobility platform.
In December 2025, Germany placed major orders with GDELS for both Eagle V 4×4 and Eagle V 6×6 vehicles. Framework agreements cover a combined total of up to 5,000 vehicles, with nearly 3,000 of those ordered immediately, signaling a significant expansion of protected mobility across the country’s formations.
Switzerland has been another notable user of the Eagle family. In 2019, the Swiss Armed Forces took delivery of additional Eagle V 6×6 reconnaissance vehicles.
Denmark also selected Eagle vehicles as part of its reconnaissance and light armored vehicle procurement programs in 2017.
