US Navy Greenlights Production of CACI’s Spectral Shipboard EW Solutions
CACI International’s Spectral electronic warfare program has achieved Milestone C approval from the US Navy, clearing the way for low-rate initial production and deployment to the fleet.
Spectral is a $1.2-billion initiative to equip vessels with tools to sense and interpret activity across radar, communications, and electronic signals, enhancing situational awareness of warfighters in the theater.
The company said that the effort’s systems use software-defined technology and open architecture to maintain a platform’s compatibility with future shipboard solutions through the evolving battlefield.
The decision, granted after review by the military’s Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence, follows a series of evaluations conducted with Program Manager Warfare Battlespace Awareness and Information Operations.
John Mengucci, CEO and president of CACI, framed the achievement as a “momentous leap,” saying that Spectral’s authorization was made possible with the company’s “bold investments” and engineering expertise.
“This recent milestone enables the delivery of modern, cutting-edge technologies that empower our warfighters to defend the nation from our adversaries and maintain decision superiority across every domain, especially the electromagnetic spectrum,” Mengucci stated.
“I thank the Navy for entrusting CACI to strengthen their ability to defend the nation and prevail in contested environments, when it matters most — when the stakes are highest, and lives are on the line.”
