Elbit Systems to Upgrade IDF Digital Network Under $100M+ Contracts

Elbit Systems has secured $100 million in contracts to develop digitization solutions for the Israel Defense Forces, as the service transitions to its fifth-generation tactical cyber network structure.

The deals aim to produce capabilities that integrate assets across the military’s command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, digital fire, and border protection into a unified multi-domain network.

Work will be facilitated in partnership with the Middle Eastern country’s Directorate of Defense Research & Development and the Israeli Ground Forces.

Next Generation Digital Ground Army

Among the agreements’ critical tasks will be signals warfare technologies that optimize multi-domain connectivity between all tiers of operational centers.

The framework, called Next Generation Digital Ground Army or “Tzayad,” will deliver advanced command-and-control capabilities from headquarters to frontline combat units in all domains.

It aims to accelerate sensor-to-shooter cycles, expand tactical network capacity, and support operational and tactical decisions using artificial intelligence (AI).

The architecture will remain open to enable rapid integration of new sensors and platforms.

Multi-Sensor Border Defense System

Another key focus is to provide solutions to oversee large arrays of sensors and effectors for border security.

The Multi-Sensor Border Defense System, dubbed “MARS,” will incorporate AI-enabled target detection and classification, multi-mission management, and multi-service connectivity, reflecting lessons from recent combat operations.

‘Substantial Technological Advantage’

According to Elbit, the new systems will enhance situational awareness by improving speed and accuracy on the modern battlefield, delivering what the company described as a “substantial technological advantage.”

The firm added that the capabilities will support the Israel Defense Forces’ goal of operating as a fully digital force built on a “dynamic, intelligent, and cognitive network.”

“We are grateful for the trust placed in Elbit Systems, for the long-standing strategic partnership with the Ministry of Defense and the [Israel Defense Forces], and for the privilege of being part of the effort to defend the country’s borders in both routine and emergency situations,” said Haim Delmar, general manager at Elbit Systems.

“We are proud to stand alongside our partners in strengthening Israel’s security and advancing the future of defense innovation.”
