SRC Secures SR Hawk Radar Contract for Poland

US defense firm SRC has secured a follow-on contract to supply its SR Hawk surveillance radars to the Polish Armed Forces.

The contract adds to SRC’s longstanding collaboration with WB Group, which previously equipped Polish BWR‑1D/S reconnaissance fighting vehicles and AWR artillery reconnaissance vehicles with SR Hawk radars in 2021 and 2024.

Integrated into Rosomak wheeled armored personnel carriers, the radars’ Fall-of-Shot capability, combined with WB Group’s TOPAZ automated fire control system, allows Polish units to rapidly detect and engage targets while maintaining situational awareness across multiple domains.

With over 500 units deployed worldwide, the SR Hawk can track artillery bursts, personnel, land vehicles, and marine vessels, providing versatile surveillance and border monitoring capabilities.

Poland Strengthens Artillery Reconnaissance

Poland has been methodically upgrading its artillery reconnaissance and battlefield awareness capabilities through a series of recent defense procurements with both domestic and international partners.

Complementing radar upgrades, Poland has expanded its unmanned reconnaissance capabilities with additional FlyEye unmanned aerial systems

Under a framework agreement signed in September 2023, the Polish Armament Agency and WB Group agreed to procure FlyEye drone sets.

In October 2025, a fourth executive agreement was signed for further deliveries, including logistics and training support.

Polish reconnaissance modernization also includes enhancements to its light reconnaissance vehicles. In 2024, Poland ordered 286 LOTR/Kleszcz armored reconnaissance carriers from a consortium led by AMZ‑Kutno, with deliveries extending from 2026 through 2035.

These vehicles are being fitted with advanced mast‑mounted sensor suites such as Aselsan’s ARSUS 100 to boost persistent surveillance and targeting.
