L3Harris Technologies delivered nearly 500,000 fuzes in 2025, marking a record year for the company as US and allied weapons production accelerated.
The milestone reflected a sharp increase in output from L3Harris’ Fuzing and Ordnance Systems unit, which supplies fuzing, safe-and-arm devices, and ordnance components used in solid rocket motors and precision-guided weapons.
Fuzes are critical components that determine how and when a weapon ignites, particularly in modern missile and air defense systems where timing, safety, and reliability are central to mission effectiveness.
According to the company, 2025 deliveries represented an almost 80 percent increase compared with the previous year, when more than 280,000 fuzes were shipped across multiple defense programs.
Company officials attributed the surge to sustained demand from US Department of Defense (DoD) programs and allied customers, rather than a single short-term spike.
L3Harris also reported that fuze orders reached record levels for the second consecutive year, signaling continued pressure on munitions supply chains.
L3Harris Fuze Contracts
Efforts to expand fuze production have been backed by major contract awards in recent years, with 2025 seeing deliveries of multiyear supply arrangements and new orders that reinforce demand.
In June 2024, L3Harris was awarded a significant multi-year delivery order by the US Army worth up to $872.4 million for M762A1 and M767A1 electronic timing fuze production, with performance stretching through the decade. This delivery order extended an existing contract.
Also in July 2025, L3Harris won a contract with the US DoD’s Ogden Air Logistics Complex for nearly $15 million in fuze and inventory work, reflecting ongoing sustainment and inventory objective increases across military logistics systems.
