Blackhawk Wins German Contract for Modular Holster System

Blackhawk has secured a major contract to equip the German armed forces with its modular Holster Carry System.

Designed to meet the demanding needs of German soldiers, the Bundeswehr Holster Carry System allows holsters to be worn on the belt, chest, or thigh, with quick-detach adapters for seamless integration with Blackhawk and G-Code RTI components.

Built in the US, the system emphasizes rugged reliability and operational flexibility, reflecting real-world field experience.

Helmut Hofmann, the German partner in the project, highlighted the collaboration as a model of combining American engineering with German precision and logistics.

Outdoor Marketing International, Blackhawk’s European agency, helped secure the contract through market expertise and strong local relationships.

Peter Hofmann, Helmut Hofmann chief executive officer, called the system’s adaptability “a new standard for military equipment,” emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in delivering effective solutions to the armed forces.

Previous German Systems Contracts

Germany has been steadily awarding contracts to equip its armed forces with modern carry and soldier systems in recent years.

In April 2024, Rheinmetall won a major framework contract to supply up to 191,000 tactical intercom systems with integrated hearing protection, supporting soldier communications and equipment integration across the force.

In August 2024, Berlin listed a public tender for a framework contract to deliver leather belt holsters for the HK SFP9‑TR service weapon, indicating ongoing standardization of carry gear across service weapon platforms.

Other recent soldier equipment deals have focused on protective and modular systems, such as follow‑up contracts awarded in March 2025 to Mehler Protection for continued supply of modular protective vests to German Special Operations Forces.
