Ukrainian Soldiers Step Into ‘Flyswatter,’ Facing Drones Without Leaving the Room

Ukrainian soldiers are once again counting on virtual training grounds to boost resilience against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).

The country’s defense ministry recently approved the new Chaika and Chaika-M electronic simulators for official use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Also known as Flyswatter, the tools are designed to train soldiers in counter-drone tactics and familiarize them with man-portable air-defense systems (MANPADS) and other weapons like the Stinger and M2 machine guns.
