AeroVironment has unveiled the next wave of its combat-proven Switchblade loitering munitions, adding three new variants designed for multi-domain combat and a wider range of anti-armor roles.
The lineup is led by the Switchblade 600 Block 2, featuring enhanced avionics and is optimized for extended engagements. It uses AI to detect targets automatically, while its encrypted navigation signal helps it stay connected even in contested or jammed environments.
It also reportedly loiters longer than previous models and supports operator handoff and control at distances up to 100 kilometers (62 miles). The platform can also function as a communications relay to extend netted command-and-control between units.
