GDLS, Parry Labs Partner to Accelerate Digital Integration in US Combat Systems

General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) and Parry Labs have entered a strategic partnership to accelerate digital integration across US combat systems.

The two defense firms will combine their expertise in armored vehicle design and digital engineering to create an end-to-end software delivery environment for the US Army’s ground combat platforms.

The collaboration aims to streamline integration, reduce costs, and speed up the deployment of new capabilities to soldiers in the field.

Under the agreement, Parry Labs will provide its modular software stack, AI-enabled infrastructure, and edge-computing technology, while GDLS will contribute its decades of experience in developing combat vehicles.

The companies said their joint work will align with the army’s broader modernization strategy and will be showcased at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) 2025 expo in Washington, DC.

Digital Integration Gains Ground

The GDLS-Parry Labs alliance adds to a wave of digital transformation efforts reshaping the US defense sector.

The US Army’s Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle and Next Generation Combat Vehicle programs, for example, are built on open-architecture designs that allow rapid software updates and sensor integration.

The US Air Force has adopted a similar model through its Advanced Battle Management System, which seeks to connect aircraft, drones, and ground units through a cloud-based digital backbone.

This network enables real-time data sharing and faster command decisions, ensuring a more cohesive response across the battlespace.

Meanwhile, the US Navy’s Project Overmatch is pursuing parallel goals at sea. The initiative aims to link ships, submarines, and aircraft into a single, resilient digital network capable of distributing targeting data and mission information in an instant.
