Teledyne Introduces Autonomous ‘Drone-in-a-Box’ Platform

Teledyne FLIR has given unmanned aerial systems (UAS) a new mobile home, letting them launch, fly, and return autonomously in a rugged, self-contained platform.

Built on a “drone-in-a-box” concept, the SkyCarrier keeps UAS secure while closed and opens for autonomous takeoff, even on uneven terrain or in transit.

Integrated near-infrared (NIR) beacons and QR (quick-response) codes guide drones back to designated landing spots or vehicles without operator input.
