RFA Lyme Bay has delivered over 80 tonnes of humanitarian aid for Gaza into Port Said, Egypt. The aid was handed to the Egyptian Red Crescent Society for transfer to Rafah and distribution in Gaza by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). The ship, operated by the Royal Fleet Auxiliary - the Royal Navy’s vital support flotilla - delivered over 300 pallets, containing over 10,000 thermal blankets and nearly 5,000 shelter packs, of UK Aid on behalf of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, as well as 11 pallets of medical aid on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus. RFA Lyme Bay is deployed to the Eastern Mediterranean, alongside RFA Argus, as part of Littoral Response Group (South).
