North Warning System (NWS) Site BAF-3 is located in Brevoort Island, Nunavut, Northwest Territories. This long-range radar site was established in October 1988. The NWS is a joint Canadian-American radar system that provides aerospace surveillance. In Canada, the NWS comprises 47 sites--11 long-range sites and 36 short-range sites -- spanning the Arctic.
