Premier Graphene Secures First Mexican Defense Deal for Military Gear
California-based carbon material producer Premier Graphene has secured its first contract with Mexico, marking its entry into the country’s defense manufacturing sector.
The deal, awarded alongside its Mexican affiliate HGI Industrial Technologies SAPI, follows successful military testing and a request for proposals for duty belts with integrated ammunition carriers for operational use.
HGI leveraged its domestic manufacturing network and support to facilitate the sale.
The consortium said it has already secured financing to cover production and delivery, with the first tranche expected by early May.
The initial production batch will serve as a test lot, undergoing durability, performance, and compliance assessments led by defense authorities.
Following the agreement, the companies are expected to commence work on three additional supply deals, expanding support for Mexico’s armed forces.
Further schedules, additional specifications, and new contracts will be discussed as the initiative progresses.
“This contract represents more than a first award — it is an affirmation and a validation point,” said Pedro Mendez, president of both companies.
“This demonstrates our capacity to strategically navigate complex procurement environments and deliver solutions meeting, if not exceeding, the demanding standards of defense authorities.”
