MQ-25A Stingray Unmanned Tanker Flies for First Time in Key Naval Milestone

Naval aviation is edging further into a new era of modernization as Boeing’s long-awaited MQ-25A Stingray took to the skies for the first time in a recent test.

The unmanned tanker flew autonomously for over two hours, handling take-off and landing on its own while responding to commands from Boeing and US Navy pilots via a ground control station.

During the flight, the MQ-25A executed a mission plan that validated its flight controls, navigation systems, and integration with Lockheed Martin’s MDCX command-and-control platform.
