IDF Receives Thousands of X95 Micro-TAVOR Rifles From IWI

SK Group segment Israel Weapon Industries has supplied thousands of X95 Micro-TAVOR assault rifles to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The systems, already in service since 2006, are used across infantry units in both marksman and rifleman configurations.

The X95 is a 5.56×45-millimeter compact bullpup rifle designed for urban, subterranean, and close-quarters combat, as well as other high-intensity missions.

Its modular design integrates a long barrel into a shortened overall length and incorporates polymer parts for lightweight handling, sustaining lethality while enhancing maneuverability.

The NATO-standard rifle has a closed-bolt gas piston system and interchangeable components that support single and two-handed use, enabling operability and upkeep across complex domains.

Additional features include ambidextrous controls, backup sights, a 360-degree Picatinny rail for accessories, and a rear center of gravity for lower recoil in multiple positions.

The weapon has an approximate range of 500 meters (1,640 feet) and a firing rate of up to 950 rounds per minute.

“With this latest delivery, we are continuing to support the operational readiness of the IDF with advanced, combat-proven systems tailored to the demands of modern warfare,” EDR quoted SK Group Vice Chairman Ronen Hamudot as saying.

“The X95 reflects our close collaboration with IDF units and our commitment to equipping Israel’s defense forces with reliable, mission-ready platforms designed for today’s complex battlefield realities.”
