‘Head-On’ Solution: US Tackles Drone Problem With Low-Cost VTOL Interceptor
A Florida-based developer is positioning a one-way autonomous interceptor as a low-cost response to evolving drone threats, framing the effort within the context of asymmetric warfare.
ZenaDrone, a subsidiary of Canadian tech firm ZenaTech, has begun work on a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) prototype called the “Interceptor P-1,” designed to physically intercept hostile drones in mid-air.
The system is intended as an alternative to missiles and laser-based solutions, which often carry significantly higher costs than the smaller targets they are designed to neutralize.
