Cyprus Receives Two H-10 Poseidon Surveillance Drones
The Cyprus National Guard has received two H-10 Poseidon surveillance drones from Cypriot manufacturer Swarmly Aero, local media has reported.
The H-10 Poseidon is designed for day and night operations under challenging conditions, with a maximum flight altitude of 5 kilometres (3.1 miles) and a range of 50 kilometres (31 miles).
It carries out reconnaissance and fire coordination, providing artillery units with real-time information on target locations and movements.
The drone is engineered for low detectability, featuring a reduced thermal signature and minimal radar reflection.
It incorporates advanced anti-jamming and anti-spoofing systems to maintain operational performance in high-electronic-threat environments.
GPS navigation can be overridden if signals are jammed or spoofed, enabling the drone to continue operating with alternative satellite navigation systems.
Swarmly Aero’s H-10 Poseidon has been deployed on the Ukrainian front, with over 200 units supplied to Kyiv and additional exports to Indonesia.
Defense Acquisitions
While boosting domestic defense, Nicosia is also broadening imports of advanced military equipment.
In April last year, Cyprus received its first two H145M multirole helicopters from Airbus under a 2022 contract, part of a six-helicopter modernization program for the Cypriot National Guard.
The deliveries followed a US policy shift announced in early 2025 that allowed Cyprus access to foreign military equipment.
Under the framework, Cyprus can acquire defense articles, supplies, and services through programs such as foreign military sales.
According to Washington, providing US defense equipment to Cyprus is intended to strengthen the country’s security and support broader regional stability in the Mediterranean.
