Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) has won a framework contract from the Danish Armed Forces for the delivery of up to 1,000 HX and TG logistics trucks, accompanied by an initial order for more than 100 vehicles valued in the double-digit million euro range.
Awarded by Denmark’s Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO), the award supports the build-up of a heavy infantry brigade and includes sustainment services, spare parts, and operator training.
Copenhagen also extended the sustainment contract for its existing HX fleet by four years as part of the deal.
The first trucks are scheduled for delivery before the end of 2027.
“The acquisition of new all-terrain trucks for the heavy infantry brigade is another important piece in the Army’s armament,” said Col. Thomas Øgendahl Knudsen, head of land division at DALO.
“I am very pleased that through this contract signing, we now ensure that the soldiers within a few years will have significantly increased their combat power in their operational tasks. I am pleased to see our collaboration with Rheinmetall continue.”
The HX and TG Trucks
RMMV’s HX family, designed as a “military off-the-shelf” solution, offers configurations ranging from 4×4 to 10×10, with payloads from 5 to 16 tons (10,000 to 32,000 pounds).
The HX system is offered in nine base variants and is powered by a MAN D2066 Euro 4 engine delivering 440 horsepower.
It can transport 17,000 kilograms (37,479 pounds) of cargo and has a 400-liter (106 gallons) fuel capacity. The platform reaches a top speed of 100 kilometers (62 miles) per hour with a range of 800 kilometers (497 miles).
Meanwhile, the TG family, derived from RMMV’s proven commercial heavy vehicle line, comes in 4×4 and 8×8 design and can transport up to 10 tons (20,000 pounds) of cargo.
Its militarized TG-MIL and TGS-MIL variants are powered by Euro 3 to Euro 6 diesel engines producing 340 to 540 horsepower. Depending on configuration, the TG family offers up to 400 liters of fuel capacity and road speeds similar to the HX vehicles.
The TG platform supports payloads of up to 17 tons (34,000 pounds), with standard fuel capacity enabling ranges of over 800 kilometers (497 miles).
