ACS to Supply Autonomous ‘Bullfrog’ Anti-Drone Systems to S. Korea, UAE

Texas-based Allen Control Systems (ACS) has secured contracts with South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to supply its “Bullfrog” autonomous weapon systems built for countering drones.

The deal also includes support for operator training, technical assistance, and sustainment. However, the number of systems to be delivered and the contract amount were undisclosed.

“As allied nations seek cost-effective and scalable technologies to counter the rapid proliferation of weaponized drones, Bullfrog provides their forces with a new layer of protection against this growing threat on the move and at the edge,” said ACS Co-Founder and CEO, Mike Wior

The Bullfrog

Wior described the company’s flagship Bullfrog autonomous weapon systems as “the only near-term viable solution for close-in kinetic defeat at scale.”

The Bullfrog line is artificial intelligence-driven and shares compatibility with both legacy and modern weapons, achieving precise drone target engagement on land and sea.

It comes in multiple variants — the M240, M2, M230, and M134 — capable of defeating Group 1 to 3 uncrewed aerial systems with an operational range from 800 to 1,500 meters (2,625 to 4,921 feet).

Each version features passive sensing and an open architecture that enables easy integration with existing command-and-control systems.

More Bullfrog Deals

ACS announced that it struck a deal to co-produce the Bullfrog with Romania, as well as opening regional offices in Asia and Europe to meet the growing demand.

It also won a contract with defense firm ManTech to integrate the Bullfrog into maritime platforms supporting US Special Operations Forces.

Recently, the company demonstrated the autonomous counter-drone system for the Pentagon and mounted it on the US Army’s Abrams main battle tanks and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles in a trial.
