Brazil’s Embraer Deepens India Operations With New Office
Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer has opened a new office in Aerocity, New Delhi, marking a major step in its plan to grow its footprint in India’s defense and aerospace sectors.
The facility will serve as Embraer’s main base in India, managing operations in engineering, supply chain, and procurement while aligning with national initiatives to promote a self-reliant industry.
The inauguration was attended by Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, Defence Minister Jose Mucio, India’s Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, and Brazil’s Ambassador to India Kenneth Felix Haczynski da Nobrega.
‘New Bold Chapter’
Francisco Gomes Neto, Embraer’s CEO and president, said the new office reflects the growing aerospace and defense ties between India and Brazil.
He added that the expanded presence will boost coordination with stakeholders, customers, and policymakers while supporting local innovation and manufacturing in line with India’s defense strategy and ambition to become a global aviation hub.
“The opening of our New Delhi corporate office marks a bold new chapter for Embraer in India — a market central to our global vision,” Neto stated.
“This office spans across all our business units and will strengthen collaboration with partners, customers, and suppliers.”
Two Decades of Trust, Mobility Push
Embraer’s relationship with India began in 2005, when the South Asian country’s E-Jets first entered service, expanding regional air travel.
Today, nearly 50 Embraer aircraft operate across the country, serving the military, government agencies, business jet operators, and commercial airline Star Air.
In the armed forces, a new program will equip the Indian Air Force with an early warning aircraft based on Embraer’s ERJ145 platform. Another Embraer plane, the Legacy 600, is currently used for VIP transport by both the Air Force and the Border Security Force.
Embraer is also exploring new projects in India, including air taxi services in cities like Bangalore, through its electric aviation arm, Eve Air Mobility, working with local partners such as JetSetGo and Hunch Mobility to develop air traffic systems for future electric flights.
