Kazakhstan Sets Up Military AI Unit to Digitize Defense
Kazakhstan is stepping into the era of AI-driven defense with the creation of a dedicated artificial intelligence unit under the Ministry of Defense.
The new unit will lead the digital transformation of the armed forces, developing and applying AI tools to support various missions.
The initiative follows President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s call to accelerate military digitization with AI, a plan officially confirmed by Deputy Defense Minister Darkhan Akhmediev.
