Elsight Secure Drone Network System Approved for US Military Procurement

The US Defense Contract Management Agency has added Elsight’s drone connectivity system to its approved procurement list for secure unmanned systems.

The inclusion of the Israeli firm’s Halo on the Blue UAS list confirms that it meets US Department of Defense requirements for cybersecurity, supply chain assurance, and operational reliability in unmanned systems.

It also clears the platform for Federal Communication Commission authorization, allowing broader deployment across military drone programs.

Halo is designed to maintain constant communication for drones operating beyond visual line of sight by combining multiple data links into a single channel.

Elsight said the platform is intended for use in high-risk environments where electronic warfare or signal disruption can break traditional single-link communications.

“We look forward to supporting the UAV manufacturers in the Drone Dominance program and others on the Blue List with the resilient connectivity required by the evolution of the modern battlefield,” CEO of Elsight Yoav Amitai said.

Why Blue UAS Listing Matters

The Blue UAS List serves as a pre-approved catalog of unmanned systems and components that meet strict US defense standards.

Inclusion removes a major procurement barrier, allowing defense users to acquire technology faster without undergoing lengthy individual certification processes.

Systems on the list are also required to meet NDAA compliance standards, which restrict the use of certain foreign-made components.

Recent additions to the Blue UAS ecosystem include platforms from companies such as Heven Aerotech, whose Z1 became the first hydrogen-powered drone included in November 2025.

Kraus Hamdani Aerospace’s K1000ULE and Ascent AeroSystems’ Spirit were also added in September 2025.
