Ukrainian Drone Maker General Cherry to Produce Interceptor UAVs in the US

Ukrainian first-person view and interceptor drone producer General Cherry has signed an agreement to produce unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the US.

Under the deal, General Cherry will collaborate with American defense manufacturer Wilcox Industries to build drones at Wilcox’ New Hampshire facilities, according to a report by the Kyiv Independent

The production start date will depend on ongoing negotiations with the Ukrainian government.

Ukrainian Defense Firms Expand Production Abroad

These moves abroad follow a clear trend of Ukrainian companies seeking to diversify manufacturing and strengthen alliances with Western defense industries.

In February 2026, Ukrainian drone manufacturer Ukrspecsystems began operations at its new production facility in the UK, investing about 200 million pounds ($264 million) to build and test drones that have already been supplied to Ukrainian forces.

Late in 2025, German and Ukrainian firms formed a joint venture called Quantum Frontline Industries to mass-produce UAVs for the Ukrainian military at a new facility in southern Germany.

This industrial expansion aims to produce thousands of drones annually, combining Ukrainian design expertise with German industrial infrastructure.

Alongside these initiatives, multinational collaborations such as the joint venture between Auterion and Airlogix were announced in February 2026. Their venture targets production of AI-guided UAVs for Ukraine and allied nations.
