Latvia Delivers Tracked Combat Recon Vehicles to Ukraine
Latvia has begun delivering tracked combat reconnaissance vehicles to Ukraine.
Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds said that Ukrainian forces have received additional Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (CVR-T) armored vehicles as part of Riga’s ongoing military support program.
The deliveries aim to strengthen Ukraine’s reconnaissance, mobility, and battalion-level operational capabilities.
The CVR-T is a family of British-designed armored platforms used for scouting, patrol, and light engagement roles.
Latvia acquired these vehicles in prior years and is now repurposing part of its inventory for Ukraine’s war effort while modernizing its own forces.
Latvian Supports Ukraine’s Defense
Latvia has consistently provided a range of military hardware and assistance throughout the war.
In November 2025, Riga completed the transfer of Patria 6×6 armored personnel carriers to Ukraine, delivering 21 vehicles built domestically as part of a broader pledge of 42 such vehicles.
These are equipped with heavy machine guns, spare parts, logistical support gear, and combat repair kits.
Beyond armored vehicles, Latvia has also been a key contributor to unmanned aerial vehicle support.
In March 2025, the Baltic nation began delivering the first 500 of 12,000 combat drones to Kyiv under an international drone coalition led by Latvia and the UK, aimed at enhancing Ukraine’s unmanned capabilities.
Latvia has also provided a wide range of other military aid, including helicopters, howitzers, weapons, ammunition, anti-tank systems, radar, and personal protective equipment — part of coordinated support under the Ramstein format Ukraine defense contact group.
