An undisclosed European ministry of defense has picked HawkEye 360 to supply commercial space‑based electronic warfare services, signaling rising reliance on private sector intelligence for sovereign defense awareness.
Valued at up to $75 million, the contract centers on subscriptions to HawkEye 360’s Air Defense and GPS Interference Monitoring services.
These products use space‑based radio‑frequency detection and analytics to give defense planners insight into electronic activity, including air defense systems and GPS disruptions, across designated areas of interest.
Andrea Bersan, Vice President of International Business Development and Partnerships at HawkEye 360, said “the scale and cadence of this engagement align closely with European requirements for trusted electronic warfare capabilities that integrate into national defense workflows and support sovereign decision-making.”
HawkEye 360 operates a constellation of satellites that geolocate and characterize radio‑frequency signals worldwide, converting them into intelligence products used for threat detection, interference monitoring, and defensive situational awareness.
HawkEye 360’s Footprint
HawkEye 360 has built a track record of supplying commercial signals intelligence to governments worldwide.
In May 2025, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency approved a foreign military sale of HawkEye 360 technology to India valued at about $131 million. The package included space‑based data services and software designed to enhance India’s maritime domain awareness in the Indo‑Pacific.
The company has also been a partner to the US‑led Indo‑Pacific Partnership for Maritime Domain Awareness (IPMDA) since late 2022.
In late 2023, it won a $12.25-million Phase II contract from the US Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific to share satellite RF data and analytics with partner nations across Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands.
The US Navy renewed the IPMDA contract in December 2025, extending access to HawkEye 360’s RF data and analytics through a nearly $98.8-million indefinite‑delivery/indefinite‑quantity award, supporting maritime surveillance and vessel tracking throughout the Pacific.
